Firestone Stadium is a softball stadium located in Akron, Ohio, USA. It was officially opened on July 25, 1925, by Harvey S. Firestone, the founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Originally, the stadium was owned by the Firestone company, which managed it until 1988, when it was transferred to the ownership of the city of Akron. The stadium has a capacity of 4,576 seats and is an important sports facility in the city.

From 1999 to 2017, Firestone Stadium was home to the Akron Racers, a team that played in the National Pro Fastpitch league. Additionally, the stadium hosted the annual softball tournament of the Mid-American Conference from 2002 to 2005 and again from 2008 to 2019.
Since 2009, Firestone Stadium has also hosted the semifinals and finals of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) state softball tournament. These championship competitions cover all four divisions of OHSAA softball, with 12 games held over three days at the end of May or early June.

On June 1, 2022, a ceremonial event took place to mark the completion of a major renovation of Firestone Stadium. The event was attended by Akron’s mayor, a city council member, the senior vice president of Bridgestone Americas, the executive director of OHSAA, and representatives of contracting companies. The project cost $1.47 million and included updates to four restrooms and food zones, the installation of new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as stadium fence modernization. Additionally, two new artificial turf fields were installed on the territory.
Firestone Stadium remains a key sports facility in Akron, providing a venue for various softball competitions at the local, regional, and national levels, and continues to play an important role in the city’s sports heritage.
